a huge to do list.....

...and i just keep adding!
I got side tracked on a new secret squirrel project that i am so excited about i could wet my pants.
The planets are in alignment, they must be. The idea has transferred from head to paper to fabric. An all to rare occurrence i can assure you!
I am still getting over the great 'gingerbread man' disaster of 2006. Dark days my friends. I will share soon i promise. Just need to get all the variations on my theme out of my head, then i can relax.

Time to get onto one of the many (ahem) swaps i have on the go.
Up for a little Traditional English paper piecing(TEPP)? I have never attempted it before, but i do have some pretty great inspiration.

This is the quilt my aunts made for me when i was born. Not sure which Aunt this is still a matter of consternation, lets not go there shall we... I love it so, many different fabrics all put together with tiny stitches. Recently Mum unearthed a huge pile of left over papers and more fabrics.

I have had a ball sorting and pondering whose dresses used to be which scraps.
Last night i jumped in and sketched up a simple flower design.Only a wee 8" all up!
All going well so far, everything fitting.

One swap started 7 to go!

love fi
xoxo
p.s want a zip or two? stay tuned!

SEVEN!!!! I thought I was bad signing on for the two quilts swaps again. It's kind of irresistible though isn't it. I love the hexagons. I have made a promise to myself to have a go at doing these one day. Check out flickr, there are some beautiful examples there too. Dying to know what the 'secret squirrel' project is - how exciting!!

Nothing like a good list to get you going. I love the little pieces and think it will make a fine swap for some lucky person-have fun being busy.

Lucky you to have a beautiful quilt
handmade especially for you. I'll be tuning in for the squirrel project for sure.
7 swaps, you're an expert. I'm going to take your advice though as I think I'm the type to get addicted to swaps.... then again, life is short...What swaps are you in?

Lovely, lovely quilt from your childhood, colorful and scrappy (two of my favotite things in a quilt). I will look forward to see your take on these traditional english shapes.

Wow! Look at all those hexagons. I bet it was fun touching each one as you sorted them and thought about who each piece of fabric used to belong to. I love that sort of thing. I can't wait to see what you make from all of them. :)

I've always wanted a grandmother's flower garden. Yours is lovely and I can't wait to see how the new one comes out.

I am saying Hi How are you? from the Amitie Flickr group - I like your expression 'not a granny fabric in sight' describing Amitie! Yikes 7 swaps to go? You could make a few of the same thing; No, no that would be wrong, oh but tempting!

What a treasure-trove. There's SO MUCH history in those little fabric scraps. Love it!

Good luck with the to-do list, and thank you for making me feel not-so-alone in the "taking on too much" club.

Welcome back. I'm green with envy over those lovely old hexagons.
I've tagged you on my last post. It's one of the 6 things about you memes. So if you have a minute (most likely NOT in a house with five children) tell us 6 things about you.
